One of my absolute favourite labels Toga Archives has just arrived at net-a-porter. I was pleasantly surprised about this latest addition to net-a porter’s vast but usually rather ‘play it safe’ range of brands.
I was first introduced to Japanese label Toga at Dover Street Market London some 6 years ago. Soon after I bought a dress which is still one of my favourite pieces I own. This very conceptual ready-to-wear line, launched in 1997 by designer Yasuko Furuta, produces fascinating and rather unusual pieces – think vintage meets deconstruction, meets girlie, meets unconventional design always with great attention to detail.
Here are some model images of the SS13 collection taken off the Toga Archives website.
And while I can’t help but feel that net-a-porter have played it rather safe in terms of product selection (and wondering how well this non-mainstream brand will work for the online mogul), it is definitely worth checking it out. Toga is also available from Dover Street Market (in-store) and farfetch.
