Fendi Peekaboo for a cause

Marking the opening of Fendi’s flagship store in London on May 1, the Italian luxury company has collaborated with 10 iconic women, namely Tracey Emin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomie Harris, Cara Delevingne, Jerry Hall and her daughter Georgia May Jagger, Zaha Hadid, Tanya Ling, Adele and Kate Adie, who each personalised the brand’s iconic Peekaboo handbag.

And all in the name of charity – Each personalised bag will be displayed at Fendi’s new boutique on New Bond Street from May 2 and will be available for purchase through a dedicated online auction from May 1 to May 30 to raise funds for the London and Bristol-based charity organisation: Kids Companyproviding practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children.

Silvia Venturini Fendi, head of leather goods and accessories and the last remaining member of the fashion house’s founding family still working within the business, told WWD: “Growing up in a family of strong and pioneering females, I am excited that such iconic women, leaders in their own fields, have been involved in this project, on this iconic Fendi bag.”

So far the only images available are design sketches – so be sure to check back at Fendi’s website to see the end results.
