I’m into…

My thing at the moment are ankle scarves.

Some time ago I was given a beautiful Prada silk scarf which unfortunately though is so not me. In the conventional sense, think fifties open car scenario, at least. But I have since found some great ways of incorporating it into my wardrobe: I wear it as a bandana, instead of a belt and most recently also as an ankle scarf.

While it’s still warm enough to go outside with bare legs it works really well paired with shorts or a simple dress to add some colour and a twist to an outfit. Try it x

My kind of (fashion) girl

Spotted during Paris fashion week, this girl is wearing some of my personal AW13 favourites: Prada metallic heels (which I predicted to be the it-shoe of the season) paired with Sacai Bomber Jacket and Skirt (of which I posted on here before too). The bomber jacket is available from Barneys as shown above or in the darker version from farfetch, Prada heels directly from Prada.

She’s back – The return of Christie Turlington

She’s one of the most beautiful women in the world, synonymous for the nineties Supermodel rega. Now at 44, Christie Turlington is back, not with one but with three ad-campaigns at once looking absolutely smashing gorgeous!

The supermodel turned mom, entrepreneur, journalist, designer, director and advocate of health and humanitarian issues is the face of:

  • Jason Wu’s Autumn Winter 13 Ad Campaign

  • Prada’s Autumn Winter 13 Campaign (Note – I predict the Metallic Prada AW13 heels to become the it-shoe of the coming season, much like Miu Miu’s glittery heels 2 seasons ago)

  • and, replacing Lara Stone and returning to her roots, Christy Turlington is the face and body of Calvin Klein, the brand she modelled for for the first time when she was 19 years old. While that campaign is yet to be revealed here’s a teaser shot.

Kimono inspired

I have set my mind on getting a Kimono.

I’ve been wanting one for quite some time but have never actually come across a nice one. I would like something authentic, ideally vintage in a short version, like this one from Emilio Pucci.

A very close version is currently available from farfetch.com.Emilio-Pucci-Dressing-Gown-Kimono

Kimonos, as part of an overall Asian theme, were big on the catwalks for Spring Summer, incorporated by the likes of Prada,
Etro and as mentioned above Emilio Pucci.

This Etro version is currently available from net-a-porter.

Ideal to wear around the house, but also for a night out paired with heels and little else… May the search begin ;)

We have been rather spoilt lately with some beautiful sunshine and temperatures that make you feel like summer is around the corner – it was about time! Finally time to bring out your spring / summer wardrobe (don’t put the warmer items away too far, this is London after all).
For me Loafers are a great item to add to your wardrobe, a little more edgy than a ballerina shoe, they bring a male touch to your outfit. That’s why I particularly like them paired up with a dress or skirt to break it up a little. But they also work well with a pair of trousers or skinny jeans.
For some inspiration on how to wear loafers, have a look at the images below:
